Where is the distributor cap on a Honda Civic?
Is it true that if you Take Off the distributor cap, then the car won’t start?? I’m not sure of the year, but just a general area would be helpful, thanks.
Well first of all the question would be what year of Civic are you talking about? The newer Civics have electronic ignition…as well as almost every other car since 1989. Cars now have modules, and coil packs that do not have a “cap” on them per se. If you really want to do something spiteful just pull the spark plug wires off, or the wire to the ignition module, the wires will look the same. on the front of the engine will be 4 large wires all the same that go to the sparkplugs. all four of those wires run into a device that has another wire of the same size running into it. That is the ignition module. You can take that wire loose by pulling the boot on the end…without causing any real damage…and the car won’t start. If you really want to be a punk rip that wire loose and take it with you…
